FRESNO, CA – Today, Fresno City Councilwoman and Fresno City College Adjunct Professor Esmeralda Soria, who received the exclusive endorsement of Planned Parenthood Advocates Mar Mante in the race for Assembly District 27, issued the following statement regarding the Ro. Councilwoman Soria had the following to say in announcing Planned Parenthood’s support.
“The draft U.S. Supreme Court majority opinion, leaked to Politico on Monday night, marks a dark moment for women’s rights,” said Esmeralda Soria. “Thanks to the many years of work by Planned Parenthood Advocates Mar Monte – safe haven states like California and Nevada are prepared, but there is so much more to be done. This decision is a real threat to not only women’s rights but the rights of so many others that millions have fought to protect for generations. We must stand together and organize to ensure women rights are upheld.”

California’s New Assembly District 27 is an open Latino Majority District. It consists of portions of Merced, Fresno, and Madera Counties and includes the cities of Fresno, Coalinga, Kerman, San Joaquin, Merced, Mendota, Dos Palos, Madera, Los Banos, Firebaugh, Huron, Atwater, Chowchilla, and Livingston.
