Soria Outraised Democrat Mike Karbassi 5 to 1, raised over $400,000 and enters the final stages of the primary with over $297,000 cash on hand to Karbassi’s $25,000
FRESNO, CA – Campaign finance reports released Thursday underscore Fresno City Councilwoman and Fresno City College Adjunct Professor Esmeralda Soria’s continued dominance in the race for Assembly District 27 and further solidified her position as the clear front runner.
The campaign finance reports covering January 1, 2022 through April 23, 2022 show Soria with a massive financial advantage over her opponents. Notably, Democratic challenger Mike Karbassi raised just $71,005 and was left with only $25,255 cash on hand.
By contrast, Soria raised $378,925 and has $297,292 cash on hand, giving her a massive 11 to 1 cash on hand advantage over Karbassi. As of today, Soria’s total amount raised has exceeded $420,000 according to online reporting available with the Secretary of State.
“I am humbled by the level of support I have received since announcing my campaign in January. The contributions made across the Central Valley have shown just how hungry Assembly District 27 is for change. With this level of support, it is clear that I am in a position to advance in the June Primary and win outright in November. Thank you to everyone who has contributed and believes in my campaign. ”
The campaign finance numbers give Soria yet another boost of momentum going into the final stretch of the primary. In recent weeks, she has secured a number of high profile endorsements including US Senator Alex Padilla and is the officially endorsed candidate of the Democratic Party.
