Message for Assembly District 27 Voters

Info

AD 27 likely Democrats and NPP voters, who have voted in any of the last three elections, as well as Democrats who did not vote in the 2024 Primary need to learn the following about Esmeralda Soria:

  • Born and raised in the Central Valley, the daughter of farmworkers, Esmeralda Soria has served our community as a teacher and local councilmember. She knows that increased costs of living here in the Valley are making it harder on everyone.
  • Esmeralda is frustrated that Valley families, farmers, and small businesses have paid more than our fair share for years, while getting less in return from the state to address local problems. She ran for State Assembly, to fix it.
  • In just her first term in the Assembly, Esmeralda is taking on politicians from San Francisco and Los Angeles to stop bad bills that hurt Valley families and deliver more than our fair share back to our communities.
  •  Esmeralda Soria has delivered big wins for the Valley.  Time and again she has proven herself to be an independent voice who puts the Valley first and fights for the Valley’s fair share – delivering $675 million for housing, healthcare, public safety, flood protection, and more.
  • To address rising retail crime hurting our local businesses and communities, Esmeralda wrote and helped pass new laws to impose tougher penalties for damaging, stealing, and destroying property for “smash and grab” crimes.
  • Esmeralda has fought to protect access to healthcare and bring the costs for Valley families by:
    • Securing $57 million to re-open Madera Community Hospital
    • Lowering out-of-pocket prescription drug costs for patients
    • Expanding opportunities for careers in nursing for Valley students

NPPs, Latino Democrats, and Democrats who did not vote in the 2024 Primary election, should ALSO know the following about Joanna Garcia Rose:

When failed politician Joanna Rose ran for office last time, she claimed voters should trust her because she knows how to balance the books – but she lost that election with only 6.6% of the vote. Now Joanna is at it again, claiming she’s “fiscally responsible.” But with her history of fiscal mismanagement, delinquent debt, and tax liens, Joanna is one of the last people taxpayers can trust:

  • $1 Million in Unpaid Taxes and Delinquent Debt
  • Lost Court Ordered Judgments for Nearly $300,000
  • Caught Making False Statements in Bankruptcy Court
  • Multiple State and Federal Tax Liens
  • Failed to Pay $98,407 in Taxes, including $26,930 to Madera County and $22,159 to Merced County
