State Treasurer Fiona Ma and Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara Endorse Esmeralda Soria for State Senate
MERCED, CA – Today, Assemblymember Esmeralda Soria’s campaign for State Senate District 14 continues to gain momentum with the endorsements of two of California’s top statewide officials: State Treasurer Fiona Ma and Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara.
“Esmeralda Soria is the kind of leader who shows up when it matters most,” said Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara. “In moments of crisis, whether it’s wildfires, floods, or public health emergencies, she’s been there for her communities fighting to make sure families have the support they need. I’ve seen her compassion and tenacity firsthand, and I know she’ll bring that same commitment to the State Senate. I’m proud to endorse her.”

The endorsements by Treasurer Ma and Commissioner Lara are the latest in a growing wave of support for Soria’s campaign from across the state. They follow endorsements from a powerful coalition of labor unions and elected leaders, including SEIU California, the California Teachers Association, and AFSCME Council 57.
Soria currently represents Assembly District 27, which overlaps with much of Senate District 14. Her campaign has been marked by a deep commitment to Valley communities, a track record of delivering results, and a rapidly expanding network of support.
