Assemblymember Esmeralda Soria Outraises Opponent 100 to 1 in Latest Fundraising Report
Soria reports nearly $700,000 cash on hand and raised over $600,000 compared to Esparza’s $6,000 in the first half of 2025
MERCED, CA – Today, Assemblymember Esmeralda Soria’s campaign for State Senate District 14 released official fundraising figures showing over $600,000 raised and nearly $700,000 cash on hand. Coupled with a broad coalition of support from local labor, law enforcement, business and community leaders, Soria’s 3-to-1 fundraising advantage underscores her growing momentum and the viability of her campaign across the district.
In sharp contrast, Soria’s primary opponent, Fresno City Councilmember Nelson Esparza reported raising $6,255 in 2025 with a total cash on hand balance of $206,081. The figures, covering campaign finance totals through June 30th, 2025, offer the first clear picture of the financial strength and momentum behind each campaign.
Since announcing her campaign, Soria quickly amassed an impressive list of endorsements, including current State Senator Anna Caballero, Assembly Speaker Robert Rivas, Attorney General Rob Bonta, and dozens of local leaders from Fresno, Merced, and Madera counties.
“Our campaign continues to build support in every corner of Senate District 14,” said Assemblymember Soria. “I’m proud to have earned the trust of people who are deeply invested in the future of the Valley — and we’re going to keep working hard to deliver results for them.”
With a 100-to-1 fundraising edge and a deep bench of local and statewide support, Soria has firmly established herself as the frontrunner to represent the Valley in the California State Senate.
