California Attorney General Rob Bonta Endorses Esmeralda Soria for State Senate District 14

Top law enforcement official joins growing coalition backing Soria’s campaign

MERCED, CA – Today, California Attorney General Rob Bonta announced his endorsement of Assemblymember Esmeralda Soria in her campaign for State Senate District 14, citing her partnership in the Legislature and shared commitment to public safety and community well-being.

“Esmeralda Soria has been a strong partner in the Legislature, standing up for public safety and accountability,” said Attorney General Rob Bonta. “She understands the importance of building safe, healthy communities. I trust Esmeralda to continue that work in the State Senate, and I’m proud to support her campaign.”

Soria, who currently represents the Central Valley in the State Assembly, has led on policies to strengthen emergency response systems, improve access to healthcare, expand services for victims of crime, and secure investments in community safety and infrastructure. A former Fresno City Councilmember and lifelong Central Valley resident, she brings a record of delivering resources directly to underserved communities.

“Attorney General Bonta has shown unwavering leadership when it comes to protecting Californians, and I’m honored to have his support,” said Soria. “Together, we’ve fought for safer, more just communities—and I look forward to continuing that work in the Senate.”

Bonta’s endorsement adds to Soria’s broad coalition of support, including the California Latino Legislative Caucus, the California Labor Federation, local educators, city and county officials, and legislative colleagues from both houses.
