Esmeralda Soria Secures Endorsement of California Teachers Association in Race for Assembly District 27
One of California’s largest unions, the 310,000 member-strong California Teachers Association, proudly backs Community College Professor and City Councilwoman Esmeralda Soria
FRESNO, CA –Today, Fresno City Councilwoman and Fresno City College Adjunct Professor Esmeralda Soria announced that the California Teachers Association (CTA) has endorsed her candidacy for Assembly. In announcing the CTA’s support, Councilwoman Soria released the following statement:
“My story is proof of the power of education. As the daughter of immigrant farmworkers, it was not clear that my path would include higher education. But through the opportunities provided to me by California’s terrific public schools and universities, I am proud to have earned my law degree from UC Davis. And now as an adjunct professor, I am fortunate to be on the other side of the educational experience and can see before me the same transformative influence it has on my students just as it did for me.
That’s why I am so honored to have the support of the California Teachers Association. Nobody understands better the value and importance of education than the hard working teachers across this state. I look forward to partnering with the CTA to continue delivering on California’s promise of education for all.”
